On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: As the Winter Olympics in Beijing draw near, there continue to be rising tensions surrounding the games due to China's human rights abuses. Author of "The Coming Collapse of China" and "The Great US-China Tech War," Gordon Chang, joins to talk more about the Olympics. And as potential war looms in Europe, President Joe Biden met with the nation's governors at the White House. Topics included everything from keeping kids in school during the pandemic to border security to infrastructure spending. Meanwhile, both the US House of Representatives and Senate are back in Washington DC. Lawmakers must confront a huge set of issues right away. At the top of the list are possible sanctions against Russia. Tomorrow, Austria will be the first EU member country to begin a vaccine mandate for all citizens above the age of 18. This is a topic of concern for many. EWTN Vatican bureau chief, Andreas Thonhauser, joins to tell us more about the situation in Austria and the rest of Europe regarding COVID-19. Finally this evening, Poland is encouraging families to have more children by offering financial support. The "Family Welfare Capital" benefit will apply to parents who have more than one child between the ages of 1 and 3 years old. President of the Proelio Foundation, Magdalena Korzekwa-Kaliszuk, joins to talk more about this new child benefit that began this year.
